SUBFAMILY DESCRIPTION
The subfamily HADENINAE is characterised within the Trifinae (those Noctuids
with a weak or vestigial vein M2 in their hindwings) by the possession
of hairy eyes. According to Kitching (1984) this subspecies may include three
or more 'natural groupings' of related species and may therefore be
further divided in the near future.
