Distribution: tropical and subtropical America.
Type locality: tropical America.
Synonyms: Phalaena amaryllidis Sepp 1848; Glottula heterocampa Guenee 1852; Philochrysa regnatrix Grote 1863; Xanthopastis antillium Dyar 1913; Xanthopastis moctezuma Dyar 1913.

Notes: This common and widespread species has picked up a large number of synonyms.
