Amaxia osmophora

DISTRIBUTION: central and south America.
TYPE LOCALITY: Costa Rica.
NICARAGUA RECORDS: Bartola (M.J.C.B.).
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: by comparison with specimens from Belize in my collection identified as this species for me by Comte Hervé de Toulgoët.
NOTES: this identification is provisional - Amaxia is a complex genus with many species separable only by dissection. Watson & Goodger (1986) regard this species as a subspecies of A. pardalis Walker 1855.
