SUBFAMILY DESCRIPTION
The 'Waves' (STERRHINAE) are almost all small to very small species (10-15 mm in wingspan), often with characteristic patterns of shingled 'waves' radiating out from wing-base to apex. Of all the subfamilies of Geometridae they are probably the least well-studied.
