SUBFAMILY DESCRIPTION
The OPHIDERINAE are considered part of the Catocalinae by some authors. There is no single satisfactory characteristic which defines this group and separates it from all others.

I have collected many species from Belize in this huge subfamily so far, but have only identified or partially identified a representative sample of 77 species so far, as listed below.
